Common questions
How do I report an offensive name or someone's behaviour in a group?
In the app, open the group and tap Report a problem at the bottom of its page (if you own the group, you can also choose Report in a member's menu in Manage group). It opens an email with the group's details filled in: add the person's display name and what happened. A screenshot helps. You can also email support@appsbynikki.com directly. We review every report within 7 days, and we may change a name, remove someone from a group, end a group, limit their features, or suspend or close their account (Terms of Use §6).
You can also act straight away:
- Leave the group: Groups → Leave group. If you own the group, you can't leave it: remove its members in Manage group (below), or delete your account, to stop sharing with them.
- Turn off Group alerts: Settings → Group alerts stops nudges, drink alerts and other group notifications on that phone.
- If you own the group: Manage group → tap ⋯ next to the member → Report, Remove from group, or Block user. A blocked person can't ask to join again until you unblock them.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: open Settings (the avatar at the top of the screen) → Delete account. You'll be asked to sign in again with Apple or Google to confirm.
Without the app: see https://www.appsbynikki.com/parched/delete-account.
Deleting your account doesn't cancel Premium. Cancel it first (below).
How do I cancel Premium?
Premium is billed by Apple or Google, so you cancel it in their store:
- iPhone: Settings app → your name → Subscriptions → Parched → Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Play Store app → your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Parched → Cancel subscription.
In Parched, Settings → Manage plan opens Your plan; choose Free and tap Confirm to open the store's subscription screen. Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid the next charge. You keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for. When it ends, the group you own ends for everyone, and History goes back to your last 30 days; your drinks aren't deleted.
How do I get a refund?
Apple and Google handle payments and refunds. Ask Apple at https://reportaproblem.apple.com, or Google through your Google Play order history (https://play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory). Nothing limits a refund your local consumer law gives you.
I bought Premium and it isn't showing.
Make sure you're signed in to the same Parched account you bought it with, then open Settings → Manage plan → Restore purchases. Premium usually turns on within a minute. If it still doesn't, email us.
I changed phones and my drinks are gone.
Sign in on the new phone with the same option (Apple or Google) and the same account you used before. Your drinks are kept in your Parched account, not on the old phone.
How do I stop or change Apple Health or Health Connect sync?
Settings → Sync with Apple Health (or Sync with Health Connect). Turning it off stops new entries. Drinks already there stay; you can delete them in the Health app or Health Connect. Parched never reads your health data.
My reminders stopped.
Check that notifications for Parched are allowed in your phone's settings and that Focus or battery saving isn't holding them back. Reminders are scheduled about two days ahead and renewed when you open Parched, so open the app now and then.
How do I get a copy of my information, or correct it?
Email support@appsbynikki.com from the email address of the Apple or Google account you use with Parched. Our Privacy Policy explains your rights and how long we take to respond.
Is Parched medical advice?
No. Parched is a general wellness app. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition. Settings says so under its About card: "For general wellness. Not medical advice. Talk to a healthcare professional about your own needs." Drinking too much water can be dangerous. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take medicines that affect fluid balance, ask your doctor how much to drink. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
